Halloween In the Kingdom 2020...

The blog that almost didn't happen...

I have had a lot of problems with getting my photos right for this post. From my computer not acting right to the lighting, its been a battle this year. I have managed to get the photos uploaded the week of Halloween, lol. There was going to be a few DIY post to accompany this years Halloween in the Kingdom (insert an big UGH here) but again things didn’t work out right. I figured I should at least try and get the photos posted so lets look at this as a tour in pictures. This years theme is.... Halloween Radio, so tune in and lets get this started!

Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those Peepers...

Again, sorry about the picture quality. The foyer starts our tour. In here we went with a tree adorned with eyes and bugs. I used an oversized pumpkin pail to sit this purple metallic tree made by the National Tree Company. My Diva Witch is a find from TJ Maxx a few years ago. I mixed in a vintage pumpkin Blow Mold and a new black cat from Michaels.

It’s The monster Mash, It’s a grave Yard Smash...

Tree...

I used vintage Halloween blow molds and new vintage styled mask to decorate this tree. I mixed in some pumpkins and balls and even a little festooning. This is actually my favorite Halloween Tree to date!

Wear a Mask...

All of the Vintage Style Halloween Mask came from Spirit Halloween. They had a few other styles that I didn't get. After Halloween I will probably frame these in shadow boxes and hang them somewhere in the Kingdom. I just love the funky cool retro vibe!

Hold my Candy...

These great candy bowls came from Michaels, I did make the hats for them. This would have been one of those DIY posts. I will try and still get those up at some point, they are all things that can be done for other event also.

Who Who, Doesn't love an Owl...

I found these great guys at the thrift store last year, and couldn't pass him up. He already has a hole in the bottom just big enough for a dowel rod to fit in and then I just wired it n to the tree.

She's a Man-eater...

Time for a Party, Due to COVID-19 looks like these two will be the only guest for the Kingdoms Halloween Party this year. But I'm sure they will have a blast, I sure had one creating this. So the cones are also a part of the DIY post to come in the future and can be done for any occasion. The cake is also a faux cake that I have made using Styrofoam, caulk and spray paint. The punch is made from spray foam and then painted. The great little treat boxes will also get a DIY post soon as a Christmas version. All of the man eating plants came from Target over the last two years, I hope they continue to make more new styles in the years to come..

That Damn Blue Table...

Do ya'll remember that damn blue table? It got a makeover and I love it again! I need to get a better picture it fades from the top to bottom. The top color is called desert rose and it fades to a pumpkin orange on the bottom of the legs. It's amazing that a coat of paint can make you love something all over again.

Let them Eat Cake...

Here is a close up for the cake and the punch. I have a new love for faux cake. I now feel that I need to make one for everything!!

Lord & Lady SkellyBone

This great couple was inspired by a set of paper mache figures that Glitterville had this year but just weren't in my budget. He is made from a thrifted skeleton and tailed tux jacket I got at a closing sale at our local party city. I also got her dress from that same sale, she is made from half of a white tree and half of a thrifted skeleton. I did go back and add the pink and orange on the outfits.

A trip to the beauty shop...

I couldn't just leave her bald so I need to give her a great updo! Her hair is made from, a sheet of snow (used for villages), a straw hat for a base, and dollar tree rollers to make the large curls. Once she had hair I decided he need a pony tail, and it also helped his hat fit him better.

Lots of little pumpkins sitting on a shelf...

I have an obsession with vintage candy pails/ buckets. This year I had the light bulb moment to use puck lights in them to light them up like blow molds, and it worked. The puck lights I found are remote controlled so I just have to push a button and they all come on. I love the glow it gives. The Spider is also my DIY version of a Glitterville piece, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. That great cat is from Target and it has to stay up there because my dogs are terrified of it, I have two Dobermans but they are scared of a fake cat...

Halloween Radio, on The_Kingdome 2020...
